Shelton, Conn. – Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems, an electrical device manufacturing pioneer, enhances their H-MOSS® line of occupancy sensors with the release of new and advanced passive infrared (PIR) wall switch sensors. These sensors are designed to provide enhanced functionality, improved durability, and refined esthetics. They build on Hubbell's proven track record of long term reliable performance and installer friendly designs.
Hubbell's new PIR sensors provide an optional nightlight, selectable manual or auto-on operation, 3-way switching capabilities, and relay based switching for compatibility with the latest lighting technologies such as LED and CFL. Durability is enhanced with the inclusion of a tough tamper resistant lens, metal mounting strap, and a secured settings cover. The sensors continue to utilize Hubbell's patented zero-cross switching technology for long term reliable performance. They also incorporate Hubbell's patented non-neutral wiring, compact 1" box depth, and a simplified commissioning process with optional patented auto-adjusting Adaptive Technology to enhance installation efficiency.
Current energy codes such as ASHRAE 90.1-2010, IECC 2012, and California Energy Commission Title 24 require occupancy sensors in more locations throughout a facility. Hotel bathrooms are one example where codes now require occupancy sensors. New codes also mandate manual-on (vacancy sensing) to be used in more applications. "These new wall switch sensors will allow our customers to enhance their sustainability and maintain code compliance efficiently," said, Nate Herring, senior product manager at Hubbell. "At the same time, the new features we provide enable our industry partners to capitalize on new opportunities these code changes are providing."
All of Hubbell's new H-MOSS PIR Wall Switch Sensors are supplied with a color matched face plate and are available in a wide variety of colors and configurations to meet specific application needs. Hubbell H-MOSS Occupancy Sensors are backed by superior technical and sales support, including layout and design assistance. For more information, contact Hubbell at 1-800-288-6000
